These photos were taken in the United States and during a visit to Sweden in winter.

This is the creek that was behind our house in the US.

A friendly neighbour, Sam, outside the "Girl's House". The (single) mother was a State Department official who had adopted four girls from overseas.

Taltarni in her early walking days. Picture was taken in Birgitta and Uffe's house.

Same house, a little further along the hallway.

Note sure what happened here.

Jenny

Kalle

Agnes and the television.

Kalle being Sankta Lucia. Not something he would do today.

A full length shot, note that Kalle is probably a little over four at this stage.

Kalle again

Birgitta, and Agnes and Kalle standing in front of Kajsa in Birgitta and Uffe's kitchen.

Another view of the kitchen, filled with people.

Couldn't get Kalle out of that costume, could we?

Taltarni

He's still in it.

Son of one of Kajsa's old friends from Orebro, Martina.

Martina herself

Martina and Staffan's daughter.

It had snowed the day that we visited, so the boys went outside to play in it.

Staffan

This is a photo of the sun at midday on the shortest day of the year. That's as high as it gets.

Vevelsund's own island, well part of an island - and it is called Farneby Island, Farneby being another farm. There's ice on the lake already.

Kajsa's aunt Svea lives here in Rosendahl.

The fields are all brown, having been ploughed ready for winter's freeze.

Svea in the kitchen of Rosendahl.

Time to fika. In Sweden it is against the law to drink coffee without having cake or biscuits at the same time.

Birgitta and Uffe's dog, Ben. He passed away after we left the US.

Kalle in winter clothes. This photo was taken in the "dairy" or, more accurately, the milking shed.

The younger Wevel's sitting on the big red couch, ready for the professional photographer.

Tim, on the other hand, got less than professional results.

Taltarni playing with a toy car.

Jenny's big role at the end of year school concert. Looked like she was a doctor who had Tomten as a client.

Curtain call

Kajsa and Taltarni in Vrena School's gymnasium.

Birgitta lets her hair down for a Christmas dance.

Erika in Ingela and Hasse's kitchen.

Ingela in her kitchen.

Ingela's cats playing. One of these cats passed away not long before the update to this gallery.

Rikard on the nice red couch.

Fika time again at Svea's.

Rare photo of Kajsa with glasses, enjoying fika with Taltarni.

Christmas meal at Birgitta and Uffe's. Her Kajsa is talking with her mother, Inga.

Uffe and Agnes.

Astrid, Kajsa's oldest aunt, and Taltarni. The photo was taken in Astrid's flat which is now Rikard's part of Ingela and Hasse's house.

Rikard

Kalle and Emily. Emily is Julia's sister.

Kalle and Taltarni

The whole bally lot of them.

Tiger, Kalle, Taltarni and some random toy.

Kalle on a sled on the ice which covers the lake.

Taltarni and Agnes on a snow cart thingy.

Just a picture taken from on the ice, looking across the surface of the lake, which has a layer of snow as well as ice.

Kalle enjoying the heck out of winter.

This looks much worse than it is, they are just rolling around in the snow on the ice, not falling through.

Taltarni at Ingela and Hasse's. Behind Taltarni you can just see a tail. It belongs to Rim, who died in 2000.

Kalle

Back to the US. Here is our house covered in snow after a light sprinkle. You can tell that because there are tyre tracks with tarmac visible.

Our letter box with its own covering of snow.

Kalle got out the sled and used it in the backyard.

Tasha was very happy.

Kalle again, with a different view of our house. The upper window is the main bedroom's.

Tasha also making the most of the snow.

Sometimes, she got in the way when Kalle wanted to use his sled.

Taken from our balcony, you can see Sam's house.

Eventually, Kalle got tired and wanted to call it quits.

Tasha's other dog-house, also covered in snow.

The night before we had hung out Tasha's rug to dry. Little hope of that really.

Since then, Tasha has had much better snow to run about in, but at this time, it was more than she could ever have expected in Australia!
